Friday, April 21 – Loudon County Chamber Open Golf Tournament:
  11 a.m. Registration & Lunch; 1 p.m. Shotgun Start, Avalon Golf & Country Club, 1299 Oak Chase Blvd., Lenoir City.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 12th Place.  Team of 4 Players - $440 – includes lunch and snacks and beverages on the course.  Special Shots Packages – 4 x $25 = $100, includes 1 mulligan, 1 throw, 1 red tee drive, 1 putting contest entry.  Hole Sponsorship – includes printing of signs - $100 for one hole; $200 for three holes. Friday, March 24 – Tack & Craft Sale Presented by STAR:  4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding, 11800 Hwy. 11 E, Lenoir City, is hosting a tack and craft sale featuring new and used tack, clothing, equipment, crafts, antiques, vintage and handmade items.  Booth fee is $15 – bring table and chairs.  Make some $$, find great bargains, support STAR!  Admission is free.  Unsold horse items may be donated to STAR!  If you have horse items to get rid of but can’t make it, drop off donated items to STAR the week before the sale.  Donations are tax deductible.  Contact STAR to reserve your space by calling 865-988-4711 or email star@rideatstar.org.  Visit www.rideatstar.org for directions.  *No pets*

Saturday, April 8 – Annual Tellico Village Community Church Crafters Spring Craft & Bake Sale:  9 a.m. – Noon, Christian Life Center, Tellico Village Community Church, 130 Chota Center.  Items for sale include floral arrangements, wreaths, stenciled canvas mailbox covers, variety of stitched items including golf seat covers, dolls, ironing mats, seat belt cushions, aprons, children’s quilts and other home décor items, greeting cards, bridge tallies, seasonal decorations, and the ever popular “scrubbies”.  Baked goods are plentiful, but sell out quickly.  All funds generated by the sale benefit local charities and organizations.

Saturday, April 8 – Wine Tasting to Benefit the Stimpson Seashell Museum:  6 p.m., Purdy Party Barn, 9075 Steekee Creek Rd., Loudon.  Tickets are $100 per person.  All proceeds are fully deductible.  Food and excellent wine will be provided.  Tasting will introduce you to grapes you’ve never heard of!  Seating limited to 50 people – call 865-458-4647 for reservations.

The 55th Annual Lenoir City Arts & Crafts Festival is accepting applications for crafters.  This event will be held Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 4th by the GFWC Suburbia Women’s Club at Lenoir City Park.  Please visit www.lenoircityartsandcraftsfestival.com for more information and to download an application to participate in the event. 

 

Loudon County Habitat for Humanity, a Christian housing ministry providing stable housing opportunities for low income families, is seeking a highly-organized, tech-savvy, marketing-minded individual to increase awareness of our work in the community. Responsibilities include creating and distributing promotional materials, writing and posting social media content, updating website material, plus brand management of the affiliate. This full time position is Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and evening work. Some local and overnight travel may be required. Experience and/or education in marketing, social media, website maintenance, and brand standards. Must have effective written and verbal skills, valid driver’s license and strong work ethic. Spanish speaking is a plus.
