Tuesday, June 13 – Greenback Farmer’s Market:  11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Greenback Depot.

Tuesday, June 13, 20 & 27 – Free Summer Garden Camps for Kids:  Rising 3rd – 6th graders, to be held at the Lions Club Pavilion and community garden at Loudon Municipal Park.  Learn how to garden!  Fun outdoor activities!  Cook & eat yummy garden recipes!  Limited spots – register today - $40 refundable deposit.  Let your kids experience the fun and joy of gardening and healthy living!  These FREE GetFresh! Garden day camps will teach kids how to garden, let them be part of growing food in a local community garden, keep them active in the outdoors and let them cook and eat the fruits of their labor!  Children who attend all four camps will receive Junior Master Gardener certification.  This FREE camp is offered by the Loudon County Health Improvement Council’s GetFresh! Monday, June 12 – Fundraiser Night at Chick-Fil-A to Benefit Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County:  4:00 – 8:00 p.m., 1009 Hwy. 321 N, Lenoir City.  Meet and Greet with the New Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Center!  Please mention this fundraiser to your Chick-Fil-A cashier and 10% of your purchase will go to the Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County!

Thursday, June 15 – The Neighborhood Independent Living Ground Breaking Ceremony:  1:00-6:00 p.m., The Neighborhood at Tellico Village, 100 Chatuga Drive West, Loudon.  The Ground Breaking for The Neighborhood Independent Living apartment building is here!  Joun us for a party to celebrate the start of this much anticipated project.  Official Ground Breaking Ceremonies at the Independent Living site will begin at 1 p.m.  Apartment selection and waitlist deposits will take place at The Neighborhood Assisted Living Bistro and Lecture Hall.  Building floor plans, apartment floor plans, and amenities available.  Don’t miss this opportunity to select your apartment now!  RSVP by Monday, June 12th to Marti at 865-456-4167.

Sunday, June 18 – Father’s Day Luncheon at Country Kinfolk Café:  11 a.m. – 2 p.m., 270 Hickman Street, Lenoir City.  Hosted in the Barn, family style, and will be serving brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage, and ham with all the fixin’s!  We will also have a dessert bar.  We welcome you to make your reservations now by calling 865-250-8733. 

Tuesday, June 20 – Lenoir City Civitan Club Community Picnic:  Noon, Civitan Pavillion at Lenoir City Park.  Everyone in the community is invited and a complimentary lunch will be served, but please RSVP no later than Friday, June 16.  Our club is 100 years old and we are always looking for new members!  For more info, contact Sara at 865-986-0833.

Sweetwater Valley Farm Walking Excursions will be held until September, weather permitting.  We offer tours to the public every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the tour you would like to take.  Tour days and times are subject to change, depending on the time of year.  Farm tours include a short talk of our “Cows to Cheese” process and then a trip to the farm to see our calves, cows and milking process.  The tour cost is $6 per person; children ages 2 and under are free.  Tours last approximately 45 minutes.  All tours are weather permitting.  We will not be taking tours if it is raining, storming or if there is bad weather on the radar for our area.  If you have a group of 10 or more people, we ask that you schedule a tour with us by emailing our office staff at info@sweetwatervalley.com to guarantee a spot for you on our excursion.
