Wednesday, July 19 – Joint Operation:  9 a.m. – 2 p.m., The Jacob Building at Chilhowee Park, 3301 E Magnolia Ave., Knoxville.  A free event to provide veterans and their families with a one-stop shop to access local resources and services.  Services include VA claim assistance, education, vocational rehabilitation, employment, mental health, housing, business loans and more.  Hosted by Senator Bob Corker, Senator Lamar Alexander, Congressman Jimmy Duncan, Mayor Tim Burchett, Mayor Madeline Rogero.  Contact Senator Corker’s offce at 865-637-4180 for more information. 

Thursday, October 5 – Friday, October 6 – Mid-South Workers Comp Association Annual Conference:  This conference is only in Knoxville every three years and this year’s theme is “Putting on the Helmet on Prevention and Early Intervention”, to be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 401 W Summit Hill Dr., Knoxville.  The deadline for early registration for the discounted rate is July 31, 2017.  You can register and pay at www.mswca.org

Now through Friday, July 28 – Banking on Education:  Help the Loudon County Education Foundation support our area teachers with supplies and grants.  Purchase a ticket for only $20 and you might win one of FIVE prizes of $500 each!  Only 100 chances will be sold for each $500 prize.  The drawings will be held on Friday, July 28th at 3 p.m. at The Venue at Lenoir City, 7690 Creekwood Park Blvd., Lenoir City.  Purchase your tickets at The Loudon County Education Foundation, The Loudon County Chamber of Commerce (318 Angel Row, Loudon), Athens Federal Community Bank, Citizens Bank, Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, ORNL Federal Credit Union, or SouthEast Bank.  You do no need to be present to win!

Friday, July 14 and Friday, July 28 – Summer Music in the Lounge:  6:30 p.m., Citico’s Restaurant & Club.  Rexax and enjoy live music by Fredda Valentine on July 14th, and Logan Murrell on July 28th in Citico’s Lounge every 2nd & 4th Frdiay through September.  Order food and drinks from the bar and settle in for a great evening of summer sounds. 

Saturday, July 15 – Pig Out to “Celebrate Loudon”:  4:00 – 9:00 p.m. on the Loudon Courthouse Lawn.  Family fun, music and fantastic barbeque dinner.  Whole pig roasted by our Loudon City Mayor Jim Greenway.  Sponsored by McGill Karnes Funeral Home and Johnny James Farms.  Tickets – adult $15; $7.50 children under 12.  Tickets can be purchased at local downtown merchants or online at www.loudonmerchants.com
