Tuesday, August 8 – Chamber Business after Hours and Ribbon Cutting

Thursday, August 10 – Cool Down in Downtown:  6:30 – 8:00 p.m., downtown Lenoir City.  Join in on the fun with our homemade ice cream contest!  Local businesses, church groups, schools, civic groups or anyone in the general public are welcome to enter a team.  Teams must provide their own ice cream, tables and chairs, tent (optional) and decorations/props to set up their booth.  Parks & Recreation will provide service spoons, cups, napkins and voting ballots.  The winner will be voted on by the public and will receive the coveted “Silver Scoop”!  For more information, contact Lenoir City Parks & Recreation at 865-986-1223.  No entry fee required.


Friday, August 18 – Nights On Broadway:  5 – 9 p.m., downtown Lenoir City.  Music, crafters, food, and shops on Broadway offering specials and drawings for free gifts! 

Friday, August 18 – Movies in the Park:  Moana, rated PG, begins at dusk at Lenoir City Park.  Free, outdoor movie night for the entire family. Pack some snacks, grab a blanket or chair, and come watch a movie with us!

Monday, August 21 – Solar Eclipse Viewing Events in Loudon County:  US Highway 11 Bridge:  Bring your cooler and lawn chair to watch this Historical Event with a perfect view over the Tennessee River. City officials will open the bridge for viewing from 1 – 3 p.m. Viewing glasses are free while they last at Whistle Stop Boutique and Maggie’s Mercantile.  Annabell’s Emporium will be selling hot dogs and other yummy items.  There will be a shaved ice truck on site to help cool you down.  Begins at 12:30 p.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.  Quaint shops within walking distance.  Lenoir City Museum:  Viewing from 1 – 3 p.m.  Officials will greet guests with a Moon Pie, RC Cola and viewing glasses.  Join in on the Moon Pie eating contest! Entertainment and giveaways/coupons to downtown shops. Bring your lawn chair and plan for a fun afternoon.  Fireworks immediately following the total eclipse.  Sweetwater Valley Farm: Hosting a “Cheese.Cows. Saturday, August 26 – Cancer Kicking 5K:  8:30 a.m., TVA Tellico Dam Recreation Area, Rt. 444, Lenoir City.  Cancer Kicking 5K is a run/walk that is designed to give support to a member of our community who is facing cancer.  Caleb Estes is a 12 year old young man from right here in Loudon County.  He is a fun-loving, X-Box playing, die-hard Volunteer fan who has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left femur.  Caleb is such a strong young man that we are all praying for daily and looking forward to supporting this year.  Cost is $35 plus a $3 sign-up fee.  Register by visiting http://cancerkicking5k.com

Now through Friday, August 18 – Spread the Love School Supplies Donation Drive at The Neighborhood at Tellico Village:  Donate new school supplies to local area children for a productive school year!  The Donation Box is located in The Neighborhood at Tellico Village lobby, 100 Chatuga Drive West, Loudon.  Bring your donations of backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, etc. to be bundled by our residents for local school children.

Thursday, August 10 - Lenoir City Committee of 100 Meeting:  11 a.m. – 1 p.m., The Venue at Lenoir City, 7690 Creekwood Park Boulevard, Lenoir City.  It’s never too early to get in the Holiday Spirit!  Join All Occasion Catering and the Lenoir City Committee of 100 for a Complimentary Holiday Meal Preview and tour of the brand new Event Center!  Network with Loudon County’s business leaders and elected officials, while learning more about economic development efforts in our area and catering options for your holiday parties, meetings and events.  Or….just enjoy your lunch and head back to work!  Please RSVP to 865-986-8340 or info@VenueLC.com
