Wednesday, August 8 – Farmer’s Market at Tellico Village:  9 a.m. – Noon, every Wednesday in the parking lot at the Yacht Club.

Thursday, August 9 – Cool Down in Downtown:  6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Lenoir City School’s  parking lot, 200 East Broadway.  This sweet opportunity to taste homemade ice cream is free and open to the public!  Local businesses, church groups, schools, civic groups and individuals will form teams to compete for the “Silver Scoop” award.  Treat your sweet tooth with samples and help determine the winner by casting a vote for your favorite!  Call 865-986-1223 for info.

Volunteers for Run LoCo needed!  The Loudon County Education Foundation is hosting a Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k and Kid’s Fun Run.  Volunteers are needed for November 30 and December 1, 2018.  Please contact Susan Fox sfox@lenoircityschools.net or Scott Mackintosh mackintoshs@loudoncounty.org to sign-up!  We will need hundreds of volunteers to support this event to support education in Loudon County!  See website www.runloco.net for more details.  Share and like www.facebook.com/runlocotn to help support the event!

Wednesday, August 8 – Shoney’s Restaurants Offering FREE KidCare Photo ID Events:  The events provide FREE KidCare Photo IDs for children, which enable parents to have information readily available for authorities in the event their child is ever reported missing.  The event date is Wednesday, August 8, Knoxville Expo Center, 3 – 6 p.m. at Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett’s Back to School Bash.

Friday, August 10 – Islay Island Single Malt Scotch Tasting and Live Music:  6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Citco’s at WindRiver, 2698 Oakum Ct., Lenoir City.  Relax and unwind with a scotch and music infused evening in Citico’s Lounge.  The evening’s tasting will feature K8ilchoman Scotch from the last family-owned distillery on majestic Islay Island, some of Chef Robert’s favorite bites and live music by the Shapeshifters.

Loudon Redskin Football is coming soon to 96.1 WLNT, Magic 104.1 and RedskinRadio.com.  Our first broadcast will be on August 17th as the Loudon Redskins are at home to play the Greenback Cherokees.  The Sports Roundtable with Coach Jeff Harig, Kent Everett and Mike Thompson airs every Thursday beginning August 16th at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.  If you are a business owner and want to have your business spotlighted during our highest rated programs, now is the time to reserve your spot.  Contact Chip Lynn at 865-458-9563.

Friday, August 23 – Saturday, August 25 – A Musical Evening with Wendel Werner:  The TCP is proud to announce another musical production by Wendel Werner and his friends.  Each night will have a different theme. Visit www.tellicocommunityplayhouse.org to reserve your tickets and seats on-line.  Tickets go on sale 30 days prior to the first performance of the show.  The Playhouse Box Office opens the week before the first performance of a show, 10 a.m – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday.  Box Office phone is 865-657-3609 during the open hours.  The theater is located at 304 Lakeside Plaza (Tellico Village), Loudon. 

Lenoir City Civitan Club is looking for new members!  Civitan members are dedicated to helping people in our community.  The mission of Civitan International is to build good citizenship by providing volunteers dedicated to serving individual and community needs with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.  The club meets at noon the second and fourth Tuesday of each month for lunch at Calhoun’s at the Marina in Lenoir City.  There is a guest speaker at each meeting.  It is not mandatory for members to attend each meeting.  For more information, contact Amanda DeBord at Amanda.debord@edwardjones.com or call 865-986-0833.
