FARMERS MARKETS:  Tuesday, August 13 – Greenback Farmer’s & Craft Market:  10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Greenback Depot, 6736 Morganton Rd., Greenback.

Wednesday, August 14 – Tellico Village Farmer’s Market:  9 a.m. – 12 p.m., every Wednesday, in our new location – the Tugaloo Parking Lot.

Thursday, August 15 – Downtown Loudon Farmer’s Market:  4 – 8 p.m., every Thursday, downtown Loudon.  Contact Loudon Parks & Recreation at 865-458-7525 for more information.

Friday, August 16 – Movies in the Park:  Join us at Lenoir City Park for a free outdoor movie for the entire family!  Pack some snacks, grab a blanket or chair, and come watch a movie with us!  Our feature for August is How to Train Your Dragon:  The Hidden World, rated PG.  All movies begin at dusk.

Saturday, August 17 – 6th Annual Boat Rides 4 Vets:  9 a.m. – 5 p.m., WindRiver Marina, 500 Marina Way, Lenoir City.  Veterans and active military and their families will be able to enjoy a free day on nearby lakes.  With at least 30 boats of all types and sizes, Veterans and active military and their families will be able to fish, cruise, go tubing, swim or just anchor in a quiet cove on Ft. Tuesday, August 20 – Celebrate Recovery Event:  6:30 p.m., War Memorial Building, 101 North B St., Lenoir City.  Celebrate Recovery, A Christ-Centered Recovery Program invites you to come and enjoy our guest speakers Robert Gibson, a former inmate a Brushy Mountain State Prison, and Jan McCoy, a mother who lost her son to overdose.  This event is to share with the community what we are about and how we are trying to help with the opioid crises we have in the community and surrounding counties.  We are not just for addictions, we are a recovery program for people who have been abused, suffer from PTSD, coping with loss, eating disorders and more.  Music by Common Clay.  Please RSVP to 865-237-8406 or Carlotta.newbeginnings@gmail.com

A Loudon County Veterans Donations and Relief Committee has been set up with Tellico Village VFW Post 12135 to help the Post identify and screen potential Loudon County Veteran recipients for minor amounts of funding to help them with food, gas, utilities, etc., on a temporary basis.  We would consider partnering with other Chamber members who may have similar goals.  For more information, contact ServiceOfficer@TellicoVillageVFWPost.org
