The Pilot Club of Lenoir City is once again selling regular and candied nuts, including the infamous “fresh off the tree pecans!”  Great for holiday pies and baking, teacher or hostess gifts, cookie trays, and stocking stuffers.  All bags are $11 each. Proceeds help make the club’s brain-health programs and community projects possible.  Nuts available (16 oz. bags) are pecan halves and pieces, black and English walnuts, cashews, mixed nuts, sliced almonds, and pistachios.  Candies 12 oz. options are dark and milk chocolate, cinnamon-glazed, and pecan caramel clusters.  To place your order, call Pam at 865-986-2921 or email PilotClubLC@gmail.com

Thursday, December 6 – Saturday, December 8 & Thursday, December 13 – Sunday, December 16 – The Tellico Community Players Present Parfumerie:  7:30 p.m., Thursday – Saturday; 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Tellico Community Playhouse, 304 Lakeside Plaza, Loudon.  This new adaptation of the play that inspired several movies is a warm, gently comedy that follows the tangled tale of Parfumerie employee George Horvath.  Just days before Christmas, George’s boss fires him after mistakenly suspecting him to be the lover of his unfaithful wife.  Meanwhile, George’s own love life goes awry when he discovers that the stranger he has fallen in love with through a secret correspondence is none other than a co-worker with whom he constantly feuds.  For the employees of the Parfumerie, only the truth can lead to a happy resolution in this old-fashioned Christmas tale.  Visit www.tellicocommunityplayhouse.org to reserve your tickets and seats online.  The Palyhouse Box Office is open 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., 304 Lakeside Plaza, Loudon.  Call 865-657-3609 for more information.

Thursday, December 6 – Lenoir City Christmas Parade:  5 p.m. Line-up at Yale Commercial Locks parking lot; 6:30 Parade.  Kick off the holiday season with the Lenoir City Christmas Parade!  Each year, thousands of families come together on a magical December night to watch the excitement of a parade and catch the first glimpses of Santa as the holiday season begins.  Historic Downtown Lenoir City provides beautiful lights and sounds that will please parade fans everywhere!  All parade participants must pre-register by calling 865-986-1223.

Friday, December 7 – Decorating the Loudon Christmas Tree:  9 – 11 a.m., at the large pine tree near the fountain in downtown Loudon.  Refreshments will be served to the kindergarten classes from Loudon, Philadelphia and Steekee Schools.  Everyone welcome to decorate.

Monday, December 10 – Annual Tree Lighting and Teddy Bear Drive at Fort Loudoun Medical Center:  1 p.m., Fort Loudoun Medical Center Main Lobby.  We invite you to join us for our annual Tree Lighting and Teddy Bear Drive!  The teddy bears you bring and donate during our annual tree lighting event are given to our pediatric patients throughout the year to help ease anxieties during hospital visits.  Refreshments and entertainment provided.  Hope to see you there!

Saturday, December 15 – Greenback Christmas Parade and 1st Ever Greenback Festival:  11 a.m. Parade; 10 a.m. line-up at Greenback School.  After the parade, finish your Christmas shopping with the vendors at the Greenback Depot!  Come out and join us starting at 4 p.m. for a wonderful night of celebrating a small town Christmas!  We will have food trucks, live music, local artists and crafters to finish your holiday shopping, cookie decorating and make-and-take crafts for kids, face painting and much more1  We will end the event with a wonderful Christmas message by our own Tyson McKeehan followed by cookies and choir-led carols around the Christmas tree!  Due to the overwhelming support of the members of our community and their giving spirit, this is a FREE EVENT to attend and all children’s activities are free of charge!
