Friday, April 26 – Free Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training:  6 – 8 p.m., Blairland Baptist Church, 7330 Steekee Rd., Loudon.  QPR Gatekeeper Training teaches participants how to recognize signs of a suicide crisis; how to question, persuade, and refer the suicidal individual for help; dispels common myths about suicidality, and is suited for parents, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.  For more information, please contact QPR Master Trainer Ed Junod of Vet to Vet TN at ejunod@tnvhc.org.

Saturday, April 27 – Sand Painting Class at Depot Ceramic Shop:  9 a.m. – Noon, Depot Ceramic Shop, 481 Leeper Parkway, Lenoir City.  Create a Piggy Bank using a different way to use Duncan paint as well as basic eye painting.  Cost of the class is $35 and includes the piece.  A $10 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a seat.  Call 865-317-1345 for details or reservations.

CASA of the Ninth Judicial District is seeking volunteers to advocate for neglected and abused children in Loudon County.  Volunteers come from all walks of life.  No prior experience is required or needed to be a CASA Volunteer.  Our CASA program provides you with all the training and tools you need.  All it takes is 10-15 hours a month of your time and a heart to make a lasting difference in a child’s life.  By volunteering with CASA, you can help children avoid trauma that could have a negative impact on their lives, and replace their adverse experience with hope and a future.  Training classes start in early April.  To apply or for more information about CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), go to our website at BeForTheChild.org or call 423-539-5550.
